Tice Supplee

Director of Bird Conservation

Tice has been the Audubon Arizona Director of Bird Conservation since 2005, after a career with the Arizona Game and Fish Department that included experiences in research, habitat management, game management, and urban wildlife. She coordinates Audubon Arizona’s science related activities with National Audubon Society programs and offices in other states and co-manages the Arizona Important Bird Areas program.

Her National Audubon Society work is focused on birds and their habitats, including administration of the Arizona Important Bird Areas (IBA) program. Sites that are critical to a complete life cycle for resident and migratory birds are given this status. Her 2008 National Audubon Society Fellowship conservation project was development of a partnership with Mesa Community College Geospatial Technologies program to create a real world geospatial analysis using data related to the Important Bird Areas program.

In 2018, she launched the Tice Supplee Fund for Science and Conservation to secure a future for science-backed efforts to save the birds we love. You can support her commitment by donating to the fund here.

Tice earned her B.S. at Cornell University and M.S. at the University of Arizona, both in Wildlife Ecology. She has received awards from the Arizona chapter of The Wildlife Society, Arizona Wildlife Federation, and National Audubon Society. In addition, she teaches Environmental Biology at Phoenix College.
